The expectations of a young adult is changing. It’s not as simple as in the game of LIFE where you choose family or college. New media like Facebook and Twitter keep friends you haven’t seen in 10 years up to date with you’re daily challenges and gripes. YouTube has connected vlogers, wanna-be directors, and how-to extraordinars to the world. Changing the world.
They say “seeing is believing” and YouTube is the ultimate word-of-mouth. I will trust a friends recommendation over an advertisement of some great product any day. Beyond simple entertainment vlogers like “ilovegerardo” gets free products from BHCosmetics because it’s better business to give someone a product she will highly recommend to her thousands of viewers than advertise for thousands of dollars to people who think they’re being sold the same product already out there with a different brand name.
Recently I spent a quarter’s worth of Tuition on a two week trip to Ireland and a couple days in Rome. I learned more about myself and other cultures than I learned talking a college level math, science, or english class together. I even stumbled upon a charity called http://www.worldvisionvloggers.com/ from following Nanalew’s blog. She’s one of many young adults who’ve decided to DO something with themselves. People like “Nanalew” are taking the next generation into something better than sitting in a class room stressing over tests that don’t define you but focus on movements that make entire communities thrive.
The point of this is with technology advances, so do opportunities to change for the better, world and man alike.
